First mug shot! Uh oh!

Lindsey's first season pass.
For those that don't know, Chris picked out the name Lindsey from Lindsey Vonn, the U.S. Olympic Team alpine ski racer.  He came home from biking one day when I was pregnant and said, "What about the name Lindsey, like Lindsey Vonn.  She's an awesome skier and she's hot".

Training for the 2030 Winter Games started this week, but it may need to go on hold for awhile.  Chris took Lindsey up with her new ski pass and the snow pups and were told "no snow pups at Bogus".  They got kicked off the lift...plan "B"?

Hi, Hi, Hi

Lindsey loves the i-phone.  This picture makes her look like she's 3, not 1 1/2.  I was at work talking to Chris the other day and he handed the phone to Lindsey.  She said "Hi", "Mama", and a few other unrecognizable words.  Really?

Fire Station Fun

Lindsey and I visited Dad at Station 14 a few days after Christmas.  We visited in October but Lindsey wasn't quite sure what to make of the big trucks.  We talked about the fire trucks on our way to the station and made siren sounds.  When we arrived at the Station, Lindsey was pretty excited about the trucks and she now understands her Dad is a fireman.  When we got home, we opened up the fire station and fireman book and she pointed to the fireman and said "Dad".

Uncle JP

J.P. and Sarah visited just after Christmas for a couple of days.  Lindsey and JP were checking out Lindsey's new etch-a-sketch.  I love these two cuties!

Magic Carpet - Skiing - Take 3

We took Lindsey up to Bogus to skate ski on the 30th, but then decided why not try the Magic Carpet with the Snowpup skis.  We started below the magic carpet.  Chris held Lindsey between his legs and they skiied down together.  After a couple of tries, she started laughing and saying "more" "more".  We decided it was time for the Magic Carpet at which point the skiing was just a side attraction.  The Magic Carpet was more exciting.  The only complaint was standing in line for the Magic Carpet but who likes standing in lift lines anyhow?  We can only hope we have another backcountry skiier in the house.  We all had fun and we'll be back!

Christmas 2012

Grandma and Grandpa Mattson hosted Christmas morning breakfast and present opening at their house.  We ran into problems getting all the gifts opened because Lindsey just wanted to play with each new thing and would forget about the rest.
Grandma Mattson made a Lindsey Kate house.

Oh Roxie, I love you!

Family Traditions and Skiing - Take 2

We visited Sun Valley a few days before Christmas.  It might be our new pre-Christmas tradition since Sun Valley is so beautiful this time of year with all the lights and snow.  We practiced sitting on the lift chair in the Sun Valley square, skate skied, sledded, and took Lindsey on her first on-snow ski adventure at Galena Lodge.  Who ever thought a parking lot could be this much fun?

Snow pups at it again.  Lindsey wasn't sure if she should be standing or sitting on the skis.
First serious sledding session.  Sweet shades.  "More..More"!
Dad I'm good.  I can do this on my own, what are you thinking?

Beautiful friends, sunny weekend

Long-time friends from Portland, Mark and Carol, made their 2nd annual December visit to Boise to visit us.  We spent a wonderfully sunny morning along the Boise river walking, talking, and laughing.  Thanks for being such beautiful friends in our lives.

Tree Decorating

Its taken me a while to catch up on posting pictures of various holiday activities.  The week after Thanksgiving, Lindsey and I spent an afternoon decorating the Christmas tree.  Initially, I didn't think she was super excited about the tree.  But as the days went by, she become more and more excited about the lights and tree.  Every morning she came down the stairs and stood in front of the tree, point, and say "tree" and "lights".  When we turned on the tree, she would clap in delight and say "ooh".  It is so fun to observe a child seeing new things for the first time and remember to notice the simple pleasures of day-to-day life.
