January/February 2014 happenings

I am on vacation this week in La Paz, Mexico with my sister in-law and her parents Ellen and Frank.   Lindsey and Chris are at home holding down the house and keeping each other and Sparky entertained.  This vacation has given me the opportunity to catch up on some long overdue blogging which is why the sequence of the prior posts are not in chronological order.  I was sifting through photos and found some fun ones below.

Kylee Hills came over for a sleep over.  Just by happenstance, both girls had pajamas made out of the same material.  Lindsey was thrilled.  Such cute little muffins!  Great grandma Glass thought this picture of her two great grand daughters was absolutely adorable.  I agree!

Lindsey and Chris spend quite a bit of time on the ski hill.  This spring Lindsey has learned to stand and balance on her own and how to do a pizza wedge.  Next year she's bound to be tearing up the slopes on her own.  It will be fun to see her with some ski buddies before too long.

I went into Lindsey's room to check on her before going to bed.  Sparky had made herself very comfortable.  Sparky is about 12 weeks in this picture and you can see that she's very content as part of her new family.  The first few weeks of Sparky's integration was challenging but each week things get easier and she's a phenomenal addition to our household.  I love that both girls are sleeping in the same position.

Sometimes when I am working on my computer in the office, Lindsey comes by and asks to see pictures of  Dad's ski race.  These were taken at the finish line of the Boulder Mountain Tour.

Fairy Houses

We've started watching some movies at home.  Tinkerbell is a favorite.  I didn't know much about Tinkerbell until a couple of months ago and I'll admit that I'm a fan.  Tinkerbell is an industrious fairy who is opinionated, resourceful, and independent.  I'm totally down.  Our drive to Portland a few weeks ago consisted of hours of Tinkerbell movies in the car.  We arrived in Portland to blossoming trees.  While walking through the neighborhoods we looked for "fairy houses" and crawled inside.   Lindsey's imagination has really taken ahold lately, and its super fun.  I was curious about her perspective on fairies so I asked whether she thought fairies were real or pretend.  She said they were pretend.  I didn't know whether she new the difference between make-believe and reality.  Apparently she does.

You belong in the zoo, the San Diego zoo!

If there is any place Lindsey would like to live, I suspect its in a zoo, with lots of dogs, with her fan club (i.e., Mom and Dad).  During our visit to San Diego we spent a day at the zoo.  She loved the animals, bus, sky tram and "foaming camel" which Lindsey still talks about.  We also made visit to Sea World.

San Diego - Beach Time

We spent a week in early March in San Diego with Grandma Barb and Grandpa Dave.  I took a surf lesson, Chris and Lindsey played on paddle boards, and Lindsey discovered the joys of the beach, especially rolling down the "sand mountains".

Bend, Cousin Bandon, Aunt Lisa, and Uncle Ted

We stopped in to visit Uncle Ted, Aunt Lisa, and Bandon on our way back to Idaho.   On the way home we sang a modification of "Wheels on the Bus".  During our visit to Oregon, we saw Jude (Mark and Carol's dog), Kriksis, Kaufler, and Bandon.  The song goes something like "Bandon on the bus goes woof woof woof...", "Kaufler on the bus goes woof woof woof... all through the town".

Ted, Lindsey and Bandon on the course at Pronghorn.  Bandon might be the only dog allowed on any Fazio course.

Spring in Eugene - grandma and great-grandma time

Lindsey and her 92 year-old great grandmother Loretta Josephine Glass.  Great-grandma loves bloody marys and Lindsey gave her a "cheers" with her water bottle.  Very cute!

Purple sparkle tiara, sparkle shoes, "ballet" dress, grandma peggy, and great grandma loretta.  Doesn't get much better..

Warren Stephenson

Lindsey and I visited Oregon recently due to work meetings in Corvallis.  En route to Corvallis and Eugene, we stopped in Portland to see Ann and Warren Stephenson.  This picture was taken at a park below Ann, Bill, and Warren's condo in the Pearl District.  After playing at the park, Ann and I took the kids to sushi.  Lindsey was mad because Ann and I were sitting across from Warren and Lindsey.  Lindsey wanted me to sit next to her.  In her disappointment, she shoved Warren off of his seat.  I was joking with Ann that the shove was due to Warren leaning into try and give Lindsey a kiss in the picture below.   Can you blame the little guy?  She's such a cutie and the backdrop is quite scenic!

Olive Turns 4!

Olivia "little baby" isn't a baby anymore, she's 4!  Lindsey and I went to Olivia's birthday a couple weeks ago.  Lindsey didn't want to go.  She said, "I don't want to sing happy birthday".  I love this age because there is no filter or logic to what comes out of a toddler's mouth.  Lindsey loves "Happy Birthday".   Perhaps she just likes to sing the song to dogs instead of people :).
